Pilot Line provides high-quality manufacturing equipment tailored for medical device engineers. Our machines are always in stock and affordably priced to fit the budgets of R&D teams and startups. With Pilot Line, engineers can focus on product development rather than manufacturing tooling. Accelerate your innovation and get to market faster with Pilot Line.
Our stocked machines offer solutions for Device Coating, Reflow/Laminating, Coiling, Mandrel Removal, Mandrel Straightening, and more. Every machine operates on standard electrical wiring, requires no compressed air, ships as a parcel, and sets up in minutes. All while delivering the performance and repeatability needed for efficient product development and pilot production.
This Coating Machine is designed to precisely apply coatings on medical devices. It features two dipping stations, one for a primer coat and one for a top coat, allowing for a fully automated coating processes. Devices are dipped and retracted at controlled speeds, with the ability to set two distinct retraction speeds along the device length for optimal coating thickness. After retraction, the coating undergoes drying via heated forced convection and is then cured using UVC radiation in the curing chamber. An iris mechanism minimizes UV radiation exposure by sealing the chamber during curing. The entire process is fully automatic and programmable, with the option to lock settings to prevent unauthorized changes.

The Coil Winder 2.0 is built for engineering labs and pilot production environments where precision, repeatability, and flexibility are key. While its mechanical design remains familiar, the internal electronics have been completely upgraded to support our new Angle Pilot and future accessories.
The Angle Pilot, available as an optional add-on, uses computer vision and closed-loop PID control to precisely measure and maintain the winding angle in real time. This enables consistent closed-pitch coil winding, which isn’t possible with conventional machines. A dedicated accessory port allows the Angle Pilot to be added at any time. And software updates over WIFI help your machine get better over time.
Setup is simple with no air required, standard 110–240 VAC power, and a compact 8’ x 2’ footprint that fits on a benchtop. The 7” touchscreen interface is intuitive, supporting real-time speed control, jog, pause/resume, and unlimited program storage with infinite segments. Program editing is lockable with a user settable password.
Dual synchronized spindles support mandrels from 0.010" to 0.250", with coil lengths up to 190 cm and adjustable spacing up to 200 cm. Mandrel supports are included for 0.5–6 mm sizes, and an electric actuator maintains precise mandrel tension (35–90 N).
This vertical reflow machine is perfect for prototyping and pilot production lines. This machine combines flexibility with accurate and repeatable performance. It plugs into a standard 120 VAC outlet so it can be used where you need it.
The proprietary 360° convection nozzle delivers precise PID controlled hot air to your device. The temperature is programmable up to 300° C and is maintained within 1° of the setpoint. A pair of independently programmable centering clamps close to consistently center your device in the nozzle to ensure even heat distribution. Precise position and speed control round out the features that ensure repeatable results.
A 7” color touch screen offers intuitive control. From the main screen, users can easily home, and adjust all process parameters. Selectable operator mode locks out process parameters for error-free operation and a more streamlined start-stop workflow. The heater automatically starts at the beginning of a cycle and shuts down at the end. This reduces power consumption and eliminates heating the room.
The vertical reflow machine stands at 7’ tall and takes up only 2’ x 2’ of floor space. Yet it can process catheters up to 170 cm long. For shorter catheters, the spring-loaded catheter clamp can be lowered to ease loading.

Save time and money by reusing your mandrels. This machine will striaghten steel mandrels with or without a coating. Just press the green button, set the desired speed, and feed mandrels into the inlet. The machine pushes the mandrels through a two-plane roller straightener and pulls it out of the other side. The 020 and 030 variants feature belt feeders, for feeding smaller wires with gentle pressure. The 060 variant features the same CNC machined feeeder with dual urethane rollers that's used in our wire straightener. This feeder offers more thrust for larger mandrel sizes.

Our mandrel stretcher makes removing mandrels easy by stretching the mandrel between grips. Up to 400 lbs of force and 20 inches of travel allows for a wide range of mandrels to be processed. The cam-lock clamps self-tighten as the tension increases, making loading and unloading mandrels fast and easy. Process mandrel diameters from 0 to 0.100" or 0.100" to 0.200" with two available clamp size variations.

The easiest way to power a stepper motor is with this Mini Stepper Driver. Just hook up the 4 stepper motor wires to the screw terminals, plug in the included 12V adapter, and go! All the electronics are housed in a compact 3D printed case.
Press the knob down to turn on the stepper motor and adjust the speed with the knob while it's running. Press the knob down again to stop the motor and de-energize it. The set speed will be maintained as long as there is power to the driver. The direction can be changed with the rocker switch.
There's a screw terminal for easy hookup to your stepper motor wires. One pole hooks up to the left two terminals (A1 and A2) and the other pole to the right two terminals (B1 and B2). It doesn't matter which pole goes where. The polarity of the wires doesn't matter either. You can find which pairs of wires belong to a pole by checking for continuity between them. Or you can short two wires in your hand and spin the motor shaft by hand. If you feel extra resistance when the wires are shorted, you found a pole!
Stepper motor not included. You get the driver and the 12V, 2A power supply.
